Cold Check Collection Programs Larry Roberts Fayette County Attorney

Cold Check Collection

Many people write checks for merchandise or services knowing there is not enough money in their accounts to cover the checks. Sometimes law abiding people make an honest mistake, but there are many others who know very well there is NO MONEY to cover the purchase.

Lots of people believe that the merchant will absorb the loss and they’re RIGHT! However, Larry has a department in his office called “Cold Check Collection.”  This service is extremely beneficial to small and large companies and no merchant has to pay a collection fee.

Since he took office in 2006, Larry has collected over $5,000,000 of bad checks for local merchants. In addition, the business owners have received over $1,058,798 in an assessed penalty for the check writers.
